My greatest love though, apart from my long-suffering wife, is football.

Ever since my earliest soccer recollection - the 1966 World Cup Final - and being a football fan since 1969, I have loved football. I love watching it and reading about it. What I don't love, though, is wasting time looking for links to sites which then move or are unavailable because of weight of web traffic.

Out of this frustration came a list of links to useful football sites which I have now put online as thefootballground: the football links directory. I hope it will save you time in the same way as it already helps me to spend more time on the ball rather than trying to spot it.

My wife teaches ballet and tap to children in our part of East Anglia (Cambridgeshire and Norfolk). The Samara Ballet School offers a fresh, new approach to what is sometimes seen as an elitist art. It is completely socially inclusive, offering classes to everyone; of any age, nationality and ability and regardless of disability, special needs or financial means.

As she suffers my football obsession with a good grace (well most of the time!) I hope there may be a small financial contribution from this site to help her continue her work with often underprivileged children in the community, who might not otherwise enjoy dance in the same way that I enjoy football.
